Who is it for

This course offers a basic introduction to BSL (British Sign Language), where no previous experience is required. It is aimed at those who want to feel more confident communicating with Deaf BSL users.

It's ideal for anyone in a customer facing situation, or anyone who manages the customer service function, and wants to ensure they and their colleagues can extend the same high levels of customer service to BSL users.

What is it about

1 in 7 people in the UK have a hearing loss of some degree – all requiring a change in the way people communicate with them. There are a significant number of the 9 million hearing impaired people - hundreds of thousands - who use BSL.

Theis course will teach you and your staff how to communicate successfully with BSL users through fingerspelling and basic signs.


Course Overview

This course will introduce you to the basics of BSL, with the possibility of progressing to courses which lead to a qualification. It is particularly useful if you want to use BSL to communicate with Deaf colleagues or customers in the workplace.
